Naming

Posted 11 Months Ago

Hiya people,

umm...I need help naming a character...very desperate help.

I wanted something that meant 'fire', 'flame', 'wild', or 'untamable' for a character with a rebellious spirit, a single atheist in a very religion-based community, but none of the names seemed to fit.

However, my searching-and-finding skills have been deemed rather useless, so I need a nice sounding name (preferably one that does not begin with K, B or P) for someone 'wild as fire' (so to speak)

Thanks,

Lotti Hall

I would personally suggest "Aden," which means fire directly.

Just found a site that has quite a few elemental names. The fire ones are at the top of the page. They are categorized as Unisex, male, and female. You could also always use random name generators when you aren't looking for a name meaning something specific.

Cheers, and best of luck.

I've just now discovered a couple of sites that may help with coming up with meaningful names.

Having only just found them, I haven't yet had a chance to find out for myself if they really help, but BehindTheName has just helped me name a character.

I have troubles in naming the characters (but I find it fun in doing so) as well but I have book that has names and it's meanings . You could also search for Google different sites for meaning of names :)

Also if the character was inspired with someone you could use that person's name and  alter it a bit. Like for me I have a few characters that's named after may best friends.

Good Luck with choosing your character's name. :D
