VOTE WITH CARE
Posted 6 Years Ago
What up world? This is Brian Poem, the writer formerly known as X or Xtremegentleman. I'd like to send special greetings to all my eliters who have like myself made the transition to this beautiful place. X is back...again. lol
Today is Tuesday, November 7, 2006 which means it's Election Day. You all make sure you go vote because I did. I want to caution everyone who has not voted as of yet to vote issues and not parties. It's not about Democrat or Republican. It's about what your morals are, what you believe in and the candidate that supports your belief.
Me personally as a firm believer in Christ and the Bible have a hard time voting for candidates that support ideals contrary to the Bible. Thus Charlie Crist got my vote for Governor of the State of Florida.
It's amazing how people react when I tell them that I usually vote Republican. The first thing they say is, "You're black and you're voting Republican?"
Well sort of. I like to counter their curiousity with this. "I'm Christian and I'm voting Republican". That's what it boils down to.
Now I'm not the most religous person in the world but I do have convicitions and morals. Forgive me if I offend you but the Bible condemns the act of homosexuality. Yes it does clearly and even a homosexual will tell you that. So I can't go vote for someone who supports things that the God I claim I love and serve is against. Makes sense, right? Well, it should.
The problem with a lot of minorities is that we have trouble thiking outside the box. Many of us still have the "Plantation Mentality". We think that since we've been doing it this way for so long it's not supposed to be changed. That's why so many slaves stayed on the plantations in the south even after they were free. Hmmmmmm...
Well, black folks have been voting democrat for a long time and we've been in the same position for a long time too. Last in income, employment, ownership, etc. First in HIV, babies out of wedlock, welfare reception. Why? Because of the way we vote. We constantly vote for these people who have crippled us. Who have made us dependent of the government by giving us handout after handout whle young black females have baby after baby never having to work a day in their life. If those young ladies knew they weren't going to get a check from the governement, they wouldn't have all those babies.
So many times I hear "the white man's fault". I'm sick of it! Is it the white man's fault that we drop out of school? Is it the white man's fault that we stand on our own communities' corners and sell crack cocaine? Is it the white man's fault that she laid down with a sorry a*s negro and got pregnant? Is it the white man's fault that our Black children can't pass a test (FCAT) with basic reading, writing and arithmetic. Oh and don't give me that crap about the FCAT because I took it and I passed it on the first try. Again I remind you, I'm Black.
We as Black people claim to be the most religous people. We go to Church on Sunday and shout and yell how much we love the Lord. Then we go into the voting booth and cast a vote for Satan. We might as well go up to Jesus on the Cross and slap Him in the face. That's like saying God, I love you but I'm going to vote for this man that supports all these things you are clearly against.
I ask people all the time...especially church folk...
"If Jesus was walking the Earth today, who would He vote for" Hmmm? Good question. Between Charlie Crist and Jim Davis in Florida, I'm quite sure he would vote for Charlie Crist. Don't you think?
You just make sure when you go to the poll that you don't cast a vote for yourself. If you're a Christian and you love God, cast a vote for Him.

Amen. It is no one's fault other than ourselves. Like everybody else we require a scapegoat because it is easier to burn someone at the stake than break our pride and say, "Oh my God, holy s**t! The joke's on us, not on them."
What has occured with our ancester's effects us as a branch of the human brotherhood, yes, but does not effect our stance in current society. In this land of the free (there's a joke but for purely different reasons), generation of free thinkers and age of understanding what we do is what makes us who we are weather we like or even appreciate that or not. The dead past holds no effect on our current future.
"He who shakes his fists at the past is walking through life backwards, stumbling upon the present; therefore, inevitably, in the future he shall fall."

There's no point in voting. Pick the lesser of two evils? I choose not to pick any evil. Am I an indecisive, unamerican, hippy punk? No, I'm Alaskan and that means I couldn't give a crap for America because America doesn't give a damn for me. Why love somebody who hates you're guts?
Yes I'm drunk, yes I'm stupid, yes I am everything you want to call me. The point being: did I vote Bush into office or Murkowski or any of the other politicians currently contributing to the American stereo-type? NO! So I take no credit for what has transpired over the last several years.
Vote or die? Put a bullet between my eyes.
