I received a letter from a firm that is called (for now) Author Clebrity Associates, and for "only 7,500 dollars" they will get you into book stores, get you 3 interviews on a radio show and pitch your book at the Feature Film and Television Script Pitch day. This is similar to a pitch I received from Air Leaf and another name they went by before this and signed by the same person, Brien Jones. It may or may not be a scam, but I don't have 7,500 bucks( "discounted" to $4000 "only for me) to spend on something I can do myself for little or no cost. I get my own booksignings, interviews and market in stores, etc. I advise caution when receiving "offers" like this

It's definitely a scam. You can do the leg work yourself and get those things at little or no cost. I don't know much about pitching to film or television companies but I would be willing to bet that you could do the work yourself for that and come out cheaper as well. You definitely have it right to investigate before investing. Not just with agents and publishers, but with places offering services like the one you've mentioned. You know, perhaps there should be a place on the forum where known scams can be listed. I think that would be beneficial to all writers, not just the newbies.

i suggest you send this info to dave at preditors & editors asap, to add to his list of scam warnings... that's how
he's able to do such a great service for all of us... by getting the tipoff from 'aware' folks like you, gary...
