hey guys, let me tell you where i'm at. i could use a little help and advice.

i live near athens, georgia, and there is a pretty good downtown scene for poetry and what not, or so i've heard. there are several small bookstores down there i quite possibly can sell my books at. (my book, by the way, is a collection of poetry that can be found at www.lulu.com/content/957330 ) there is also a very popular free magazine that nearly everyone reads in the area.

i thought it would be a good idea to do an article for the magazine to tell everyone of my book, a press release, of sorts. i'd tell of it being available at certain places, and i'd also tell of myself. i wouldn't do this until i had an opportunity to do a reading, which, i would use to kick off the arival of my book.

i might get two people interested at the most, but it is something that i would like to do. it is a start, i suppose. can any of you give me any sound advice, particularly in the making of a professional bio and how to go about writing a press release?
