It's What's on the Inside That Counts
Posted 6 Years Ago
Ok, so I've read through some of the self-publishing forums and have decided, just like everything, there is good and bad to it. However, I seem to be finding more of the good than the bad. So that's good... (really bad) pun intended. I've decided that only I can determine if it's worth it or not so I'm going to do it. I've been to the different sites and read the reviews and so far it seems like lulu is the way to go. But here's my question.
What is a worthwhile amount to put in one book? I plan on putting in some short stories and poetry but is that one too many genres in one book? And if not, how much should I put in there if it's not just one story? Or hell, does any of it matter? I mean, maybe it's my book so it should really be up to me. However, if I'm doing this in hopes of bigger results in the future, I don't want to sell myself short or undervalue myself.
If these are questions that can really only be answered with experience, so be it. I've done other things without any advice so what's another one? I'm just wondering if anybody has tips on this subject.
Thanks!
Adam

I looked at it. I just didn't know what to say. I think anything can be anything and the sky is the limit. So put it together the way you would want to see it if you picked it up somewhere.

I agree.. you should do what feels right, as much or as little as you feel you need.
