Adding pictures to a post doesn't work.

I believe that you (probably) use a php script, and as such people can link pictures that are added to the post. This, however, does not work, and neither does uploading a picture from the computer.
  The picture doesn't show, this could be because of an error in the script. I won't go into that any further,´.

You should try Html scripts instead. I'll explain the best I can...
One simply posts the link to the picture and add <img>.

The <img> tag is empty, which means that it contains attributes only, and has no closing tag.

To display an image on a page, you need to use the src (source) attribute. The value of the src attribute is the URL of the image you want to display.

It would look something like this

  <img src="url" alt="some_text"/>

Html is very much effective and customizable, one can even change the witdh and height

<img/>  Defines an image

<map>  Defines an image-map

<area/> Defines a clickable area inside an image-map
