Can this site be trusted???

     I’ve just found people who’ve had run-ins with plagiarism on writerscafe. I am new and would really like to start posting some of my poetry, but I certainly do not want anyone to claim my work as their own on here. I take the ownership of my writing very seriously, but at the same time, I really want some feedback on my work.

     So, is writerscafe a trustworthy community? And if I did have a problem with plagiarism, can I contact the moderators somehow? Will they even respond to the situation? I would also like to know if there is some way for only friends on this site to view my writing. Thank you!

Hi there,

These are questions I have also been asking but have not had much response.  I would also like my writing only to be available to friends.  Only became a member about 10 days ago.  I think it would be nice to know how long people have been members.

As far as I can make out, there are no moderators on this site, something I would really like to see.  Maybe we can get some changes made?

I haven't come across any forms of plagerism yet, and all of the members I have come in ocntact with have not only been trustworthy, but have been very welcoming and positive about both reading and reviewing work in general.

 

 I am not farmilliar enough with the inner-workings of this site to comment on moderators, or about friends-only viewing of writting.

Good Afternoon? I've recently become a member as well. The same questions ran through my head. 
Of course, when you share your work with there is a chance that it will be passed off as another's. When you post your writing you are actually publishing it to the internet. Writer'sCafe holds proof of when it was posted. Also, you will see that, on the bottom left hand corner of your work, there will be the copyright sign under your username. 
You can, when you post your work, make sure only your Cafe friends can see it. You simply click the correct box.
Since I'm new, I can't help with much more, but I hope this provides some of what you're looking for!

I have been a member for about a year now. Very seldom do i hear of plagiarism on here. But, compared to other sites it seems less common here. Besides, no matter where you go you will run the risk. Even though this site doesnt have a "friends only" option, it does have a "site only" option that will let only members see your work. That does help. I trust this site, and i am probably one of the most paranoid people regarding plagiarism. lol. So i think you will be fine.

I've been here on quite a while and I think it's perfectly safe to post your writing without people claiming it's their own. Of course there's always a risk wherever you post your writing, but I think it's unlikely on this site.
