Description

"We do not see things as they are, but as we are ourselves." -Henry M. Tomlinson (1873-1958)

One of the most awesome aspects of poetry is that it allows us to see the world from the eyes of another individual. It's a point of view we are granted only through art, but poetry in this vein is special--not only is it a view into the poet, but it also wisely leaves so much to the imagination of the reader. A poem read, then, is two subjective takes on reality, and from it the potential for something greater emerges--understanding.

This is a place for those poets and poems that strive to be more than just a description, but rather an attempt at furthering understanding people, the world, and the universe.
