Stepping into the world of adulthood, Orienla finds everything she ever knew destroyed. Venturing to the city of Greyhawk, she searches for the answers to the loss of her kin. She finds no answers, but great adventure and greater friends than she could have hoped for.

     On the advice of his Master, Sed, an apprentice sorcerer, seeks out Pilar, the warrior daughter of a northern Lord, and Tarkin, a warrior of the magically created Morg-arn race. Sed is seeking a magical sword for an unknown purpose, knowing only that the sword is to play an important role in the days ahead. Unknown to Sed, however, the party has been manipulated to serve the secret needs of Kirkorman, a great wizard, and pulled into a power struggle between himself and the evil wizard Kennequahair. Both wizards have been struggling over possession of the world since their Master, who finished the world's creation, departed. Unable to make outwardly bold moves against Kennequahair, Kirkorman has been subtly influencing people for centuries to foil Kennequahair's plans. This is the story of the plans-within-plans schemes of sorcerers and the deliberate transformation of Sed and his companions into powerful players in the great struggle that will reform the world and potentially destroy all of magic.
