All are welcome! Beginners and Veterans of Haiku, this is going to be the very first of my monthly haiku contests. Every month there will be a topic and you are to base your entry off of that topic.

OFFICIAL DEFINITION: A haiku is a short poem that uses imagistic language to convey the essence of an experience of nature or the season intuitively linked to the human condition.

The typical American-style haiku has 17 syllables in a 5-7-5 format. The Japanese-style haiku doesn't typically adhere to that. My point being that just because you don't use the 5-7-5 format, does not mean you are disqualified. I want you to use your imagination and give me a haiku that you are proud of!
