I have started an epic adventure about a young interracial couple that travels from Philadelphia to California before the Gold Rush, or the annexation of California and the Civil War. This story follows their lives as well as their children's through the harsh conditions of a growing country. Alvina and Jed is an interesting romp through historical facts, through the ups and downs of a couple building the dream of a cattle ranch. It is told from the eyes of Alvina.I welcome any and all constructive critique of the first 3 chapters.
