On your journey through the city you will find ' Plasmids.'
 these jars of liquid, if injected, grant amazing powers such as the ability to hurl lighting, set fire to anything with the snap of a finger, or ever allow you to house hornets within your body. Will you resist the urge to use this power or fall into addiction like the rest of the residents? Powering these wondrous powers is ' Eve ' Created using a strain of sea slug DNA, and Lastly the only being in Rapture able to create Eve are the ' Little Sisters
These girls were kidnapped from the surface and infused with Eve, and because they are the only ones able to naturally generate Eve the Splicers coveted them so they could harvest the Eve from their body. Andrew Ryan knew that the little sisters would need protectors and thus created the' Big Daddy'

Big Daddies are genetically enhanced human beings who have had their skin and organs grafted into an enormous diving suit, and can only communicate in groans similar to whale calls or inhuman grunts. They also served as raptures maintenance workers until the ' protector project' was created and their were  bonded with the little sisters as their protectors as the little sisters recycle the DNA of dead splicers.
