My story. Ok guys here is my story. I was 12 when my mom started worrying. She looked at pictures from me on the beach, and was surprised by what she saw. My back was crooked and you could tell. I got taken to the regular doctors, who referred me to another doctor, who referred me to another doctor. The doctor we went to was a specialist. Well, we went every month to get cat scans. It all turned out the same. It would increase little, but not by much, and the doctor didn't worry. "A lot of people have scholiosis and most have to get nothing done to stop it from increasing." We believed it; after all he was an expert. Then one month we went in, and told us it had  increase by 5%, not bad. But my mom didn't believe him. She took me to another doctor, who said I needed a brace. I got the brace and wore it for a year for 23 hours a day. It did nothing, and it kept getting worse. When it got to over 55% and curved in two different directions, my doctor said i needed surgery. It was really painful at first, and then they gave me some medicine and I felt better. By the way, I was 14, which was really young to have the surgery, and pretty dangerous. I got really sick, and became anorexic. I would eat little a day. I also became addicted to Oxi. Luckily, i got better. It's still hard now, but I'm happy with who I am. The not bending is difficult, cause I'm almost 6 feet, but I got used to it :) if I could overcome back surgery at a young age, an awful sickness I almost died from, anorexia, and being addicted to Oxi, I can overcome anything.
