18 months and this was how I survived.
1. No razors, only Nair (just as good for grooming).
2. Painting. Creativity heals
3. Proper medication
4. Great pastors and therapists

Find something worth living for, something that will help you stay strong. A person, a pet, a hobby, anything. It worked for me, I'm not completely clean yet, but that's what pulled me out of depression. Of course, it has to be something really important or else it won't work.

I wasn't a cutter. I used to burn myself. The thing that helped me most was realizing that my own depression was somewhat mind over matter. After that, I began looking for things to be happy about in life instead of things to cry about. That helped tremendously!
