OUR FIRST STORY

Jimmy stepped down off his porch and walked across the yard to head over to Ken's house for the Friday night neighborhood cook out.  He was sure this time he would be suprising all the neighbors with what he was bringing to the party.

He brought a special box to the party.  It would be a secret until the box was opened as to what was inside.

Jimmy was just about to step up onto his friend's porch when someone called his name.
He looked around to see who it was. Maybe it was Ken. Maybe it was Ken's new roommate, Helena.
Just the thought of Helena made Jimmy's heart beat faster than ever. He almost lost his hold on the box he carried, thinking of all the wonderful things he'd like to do to Helena.
It wasn't Helena that called him, though.

It was none other than Chaz Richardson, the snotty rich guy from across the street. He was dressed in black dress pants, white dress shirt, silver dress coat, red neck tie, black suede shoes, and black gloves. His face was hidden in dark tinted sunglasses and a whit top hat with a black strip going around it. His silver hair was streaming out from under the hat. No one knows what he does for a living, all they know is that pays well. Me and everyone else in the neighborhood despised him, not because he was richer than everyone else or has a bad attitude towards us, but because he's abusive towards everyone. I see it was one of those rare days were he decided to walk instead of driving his silverish-black Pontiac Solstice. He was always a show off around us.

Jimmy tried to hide the disgust, let alone the disappointment on his face when he realized who had called his name. His left hand gripped the box tighter as he used his right to wave weakly in Chaz's direction.

"Why hello Jimmy," Chaz lisped as he sashayed up the sidewalk. "What'd you bring this week, more generic hotdogs?"

Jimmy smiled and after a moment of hesitation, held out his hand for Chaz to shake. Chaz smirked and, after blatantly ignoring Jimmy's hovering hand, pointed at the box.

"So, Jimmy boy, let's see what you've got in there!"Oh how he despised this man.

Jimmy glanced at the box  and his grip tightened on the box. "Sorry Chaz, You'll have to wait with the rest of the gang to see" He smiled mischivously  as he patted the box.

"Very well" Chaz muttered, annoyance sticking to his words like a second skin. "Good day, Jimmy. I will see you inside then." With the lift of his hat, the silvery Chaz brushed briskly past , leaving Jimmy to stand out in the cold entirely alone.
After taking in a deep breath, Jimmy approached the half open door, peering inside with a strange mixture of wonder and timidness."
Just then the box moved.
Jimmy froze, his hands clutching the box closed even more tightly.
As if it were timed to a most awkward perfection, the front door suddenly swung open, and behind it stood a figure dressed in shadow. A dark voice sounded out. "Are you the boy they call, Jimmy?"

Jimmy glanced at this new figure suspiciously. He was wearing all dark clothing, a black long sleeve turtleneck and black faded jeans. Over it was a black cloak that went all the way down to his feet with a hood that covered his face as he stood in the shadow.

"maybe, who's asking?" he said not showing the nervousness he felt.

The mysterious figure stood ominously in the doorway, shrouded in shadow. Moments later, he gestured for Jimmy to enter. The boy contemplated this decision, and walked slowly inside.

He walks in and the figure shuts the door behind him shrouding him in darkness. After his eyes adjust to the darkness he sees that there are very small candles along the tables in the hallway. The house looked different than he remembered in this dim light, and the figure who had let him in pushed past him to walk down the hall. Hesitating for a moment, he finally decided to follow him.

The man led Jimmy to a room with an X on it. The X appeared to be drawn on to the door by white chalk. The man opened the door to reveal a parlor room. The room was dim, nothing but lights from blood red candles lit the room. Jimmy walked over to the table that had a a red star that was painted on it, and laid the box down. As Jimmy glaced upward, he saw non other than the shmuk himself, Chaz. Chaz must of went through the back door, for Jimmy never saw Chaz enter the front.

Jimmy looked at Chaz without any surprise. Chaz was one who always liked to be mysterious, to surprise guests for the attention. Jimmy never fell for it. He knew there was something Chaz was hiding. He just didn't know what. But he intended to find out. Tonight.
