-Born in Providence, Rhode Island
-Widely regarded today as an influential master of the horror genre 
-Lacked a formal education, as he was kept at home by his mother, but became an avid reader
-Gained some early recognition by submitting stories to publications; first published story was at at the age of 31
-Was never able to support himself as a writer, died (at the age of 46) before any of his writings became incredibly popular
-created the Cthulhu mythos

As you can imagine I couldn't possibly read the book in half a day. Besides at what time is that discussion? Because I am across the atlantic ocean...
