This Is Our Passion Forum Assignment #1

I realized that I had sent the assignment out in messages, but for those newer to the group, you wouldn't have gotten the message. So here it is, posted on the forum for anyone who still wants to complete it:

Take a dictionary and flip it open and point to a word. Let that one word be your inspiration and create a story, poem, or even just some thoughts about it. Just use whatever word you happen to open it to...don't cheat and change your word. :) Even if it's the word "the" or "and", try to find some sort of inspiration from it. Oh, and if you don't have a dictionary, just take any book and do the same thing.

Far

Far is just a word
But, what does it mean
It means beyond our reach
Dim, as in the distance
And somehow like a dream

Far as one can see
As stretching one`s capability
Looking off, far in to space
Digesting all that intercedes
Between the viewer and the horizon

Bring far back to me
Let nations of the world
Come close
Let far be within my reach
And all the world be thee

Far is only whom you love
When thought of as within your sphere
Even those lost above
Or approaching heaven`s shore
Far is just within your arms, or in this hemisphere
