I think my mistake on my press release was that I was drawn to the national theme of reaching out all across America. A successful author told me I should focus on succeeding locally before branching out on a broad scale. This would have kept the cost of my press release down. It was also suggested that we learn to write our own press releases for bookstores to publish in order to help promote our work. That way we can introduce flyers with information about us and our book and have them post it on their website.
