DeAnn

I grew up in a small town in southern Utah. I graduated from a performing arts school, where I focused on playing violin and piano, singing in choir and in musical theater.
It was there that I found my love for art, but truly developed a passion for it in 2008, when I was introduced to open mics and poetry slam in Salt Lake City, UT.

Through performance poetry, I have found my voice.
I use it as a platform for self expression, connection and ac-tivism. I believe that if you have the power to grab attention, you should use it to inspire change with your words and voice.
