At the age of 85 I now write as an optimistic exercise in keeping senility at bay .
I enjoy humour and satire, as my preferred writing style,as I can have a legitimate moan about things without depressing my readers ( or myself), but I can still be quite serious in my approach to social issues.
I like to appreciate other writer's efforts, but rarely offer detailed critiques, as I feel that I should not try to impose my style (which is not academic) on others .

I always appreciate overall comment on my work, however, but not "nit-picking" as I feel that at my age any potential career change is most unlikely.
