Why do I keep getting friend requests from poets when I keep refusinig them. And they're not even good poets.

About Me

I have been writing for almost 60 years. Writers' Cafe is the best writing site I've found. If you send me read requests, expect me to be blunt. I don't like poor grammar, misspelled words or mistakes in punctuation. Please don't send read requests for other writers, as I will not read them. I try to find stories to review, but will ignore those with mistakes. I don't appreciate obscenity, angst, or sappy love poems. I don't care if you've been abused, depressed or addicted. The more you know me, the more nice I don't become.

I have to reiterate: Do not send me read requests for other writers. Also, I am not going to honor read requests from writers who have not read and at least commented on my work. I will gladly accept friend requests from short story writers. But if you are a poet please don't send me a friend request. I will automatically reject it. If your poetry is good I'll find it.

Thank you, Marie, you, above all, had my back. I'm sorry I haven't read/reviewed your work often. I am selfish in that sense. I really only come to WC when I have written something. It's like a digital library where I keep a bunch of stuff stored (bad, I know, if this site were to ever go down, I'd be royally screwed).

I am really tired and frustrated at the way this site has gone sooo downhill since the early days. Thank you for understanding and realizing that this is not Facebook, it's a place for aspiring writers (I'd hope, SERIOUS aspiring writers).
