About Me

"My search for truth recently led me into an inescapable chasm of darkness, chaos and grief. It turns out I had a paper bag stuck on my head." ~ Henri, le Chat Noir.
---
I am one of those wandering minds, subject to the ebb and flow of the universe; compelled by forces beyond my comprehension.

Regarding READ REQUESTS... I took a short hiatus from WritersCafe because I was getting too wrapped up in the reading, the writing and the authorial personalities that come with the territory. Writers are a strange lot in case you haven't noticed. We can be eccentric, sweet, horrible, overly dramatic to a fault, fawning, rude, belligerent, bellicose, bombastic, trite, trivial, superfluous, seasonal, smarmy (yes, love that word) and the list is really, truly endless. But, back to my current READ REQUEST strategy. Going forward, I would like to thank everyone for all the lovely read requests, however, I've only got so much time and I need to ease up a bit because: a.) some of you SPAM every "friend" you have with countless read requests. b.) There's only so much spare time in the day and I'm not getting PAID to be here and I have another life outside of WritersCafe. c.) While I treasure you all, dearly, some of you write stuff that is just so well-written but incomprehensible or so poorly written or disgusting or just not-my-cup-of-tea that it would be disingenuous to try to review and say anything meaningful... and all of us deserve something meaningful in a review - we all do. (Although a little encouragement and/or silliness can be tremendously uplifting - consider this a vote for encouragement and/or silliness - when apropos). Well, that's pretty much it. By the way, I'm not going to DELETE your read requests because I intend to reserve the right to review them at random, at my leisure, and if/when I feel I have something to contribute that you might find useful or uplifting or etc.. However, that means that you may get some review commentary from me for something that you may have posted ages ago... or nothing at all. C'est la vie. Thank you for your understanding.

Hello sunshine! Perhaps foolishness and silliness can exist in harmony, balanced on the tip of the finger of common sense? Just a thought... rambling through the garden of words this sunny morning.

Same person...I'm still the "dark and artsy" Girl Friday. See, the thing about girls is that they can easily change their hair color, you have to watch out for that :) Seriously, though, this is me naturally, I've always wished my hair were darker so that I would be more mysterious. LOL

I've imagined you have the voice of a Bluebird but that would just be a guess. Maybe a coughy-hacky bluebird. o_O ... Either way, good to read you're feeling better. I'll look forward to you being all chipper on the morrow! :)

No, I don't mind. I'm trying to think what might interest you. I'm guessing, from your profile, that you're young.. 20 to 30. Assuming this is your first life. Me, I'm several centuries older, maybe more. I don't remember the details all that well. Sometimes I don't think I'm even from this part of the galaxy. Are you sensing the hair rise on the back of your neck yet? ;-)

I read (in your profile) that you did a year of college just after high school. I did too but it didn't work out at that time. I had the ability but I just wasn't ready for it. I came back to it several years later and then it worked out pretty good. I was more motivated. I could see a use for the tools it might provide. Before that, not so much. It could be your situation will be similar. I wouldn't give up on it entirely (even though it can be hideously expensive these days).

I read also that you're interested or at least have a dream of becoming a published writer and making a name for yourself. That, I might be able to help you with but I should warn you that you probably won't be able to pay the rent doing it. At least not at first. Best to figure out how you would like to earn your keep in this world. There are so many really good writers out there.. it's just amazing that any of them get published at all. By the way, "Publishing" is not the problem for writers. It's pretty easy to get published. What is difficult is to get people to read your stuff and even harder, to get them to actually pay for what you write. That's the rub. It's the business of writing that most writers fail to comprehend. So, this segues nicely back to my previous thought.. you should not give up on college or vocational school or whatever peaks your interest. We all have to learn to till the soil, so to speak, plant and harvest - in order to acquire food, clothing and shelter.

The hardest thing is to come up with some reason(s) that you can work with that let you deal with the enormity of those BIG QUESTIONS; the ones like "Who am I?", "Why are we here?", "What is the meaning and purpose of life?" That one of the things that college can be good for.. you'll get a sense of what academia's take is on those things. They're just opinions though. At the end of the day, it always comes down to what can you believe in that's consistent with the laws of nature.

OK. I'm starting to babble. Your turn! Tell me a little about yourself. :D
