Hey there all my fellow writers! All right you want to know a little about me? Hmmm...where to start? My name is Vanessa, most people call me Vanessa (a few special people call me Ness or Vannie), and I am a stay-at-home-mom and wife. I have a beautiful boy, who will be turning two in June (I love that little beastie!). My husband, who I love dearly, encouraged me to find a place where I can chat, with other aspiring authors, like myself. I love to write and do hope to one day go shopping in a store and see a book that I wrote on a shelf! I love young adult fiction and often write that genre. I am not saying that I only specifically write young adult/teen fiction, but at the moment it is what I love.

I am on here to get feedback for my stories, most importantly my novels, because I do want to get published someday soon. It is important for me to create characters and stories that my audience can relate to and be like "oh that happened to me!" I do write some short stories, but those are mainly for practice to develop and hone my writing. My novels are my passion! I am currently working on two novels, one is the untitled book that I have posted here, and the other is a collaboration with another member of writer's cafe...I have a feeling that story is going to be epic!! Many times I draw from my own experience
and translate that into an event my protagonist also goes through. I love writing young adult/teen fiction because I remember how hard it was to be a teen and my family life was a disaster not in any physically abusive way (they were strict and hypocrites and truly did not care about me)...so my escape from that was books. I want to create something that another teen will love and know that they are not alone...that someone else has gone through similar situations.

I prefer to read short stories, chapters, and books, since I do not feel qualified to review poetry!
