About myself? Well, I live in the best part of Australia (the Gold Coast). I have a Siamese Cat named Oscar who
is a faithful friend. (Picture above)

I love reading all kinds of poetry, write a few myself when the muse decides! If even one person likes anything
I write, well I'm happy!

As moderator of Albert's Poetry Cafe I'm "Keeping the Dream Alive" for a beloved poet Albert Victor, the original owner of Starlite Cafe. He is no longer with us, but former Starliter's have formed this little group in honor of this wonderful man.

Our group is growing everyday and we have a very fine lot of poets/writers within Albert's and run several popular
contests and just enjoy reading and review our member's writing. Please join us, I'm sure you will be glad you did.

I enjoy the friendships formed here at Writers Cafe and feel very blessed indeed to have found such a great site to call my poetry home.

Peace and Love
Helena

On cats & snow, Elizabeth Jane Coatsworth, this sonnet:

On A Night of Snow

Cat, if you go outdoors, you must walk in the snow.
You will come back with little white shoes on your feet,
little white shoes of snow that have heels of sleet.
Stay by the fire, my Cat. Lie still, do not go.
See how the flames are leaping and hissing low,
I will bring you a saucer of milk like a marguerite,
so white and so smooth, so spherical and so sweet
stay with me, Cat. Outdoors the wild winds blow.

Outdoors the wild winds blow, Mistress, and dark is the night,
strange voices cry in the trees, intoning strange lore,
and more than cats move, lit by our eyes’ green light,
on silent feet where the meadow grasses hang hoar
Mistress, there are portents abroad of magic and might,
and things that are yet to be done. Open the door!
