Writing
Bio
My first name is Julian. I'm a white male, English, Christian and 36 years of age. Writing is just an interest to me. Then again, maybe I have the potential to achieve more? My favourite writers include H. P. Lovecraft, Isaac Asimov, Clark Ashton Smith, Stephen King, Algernon Blackwood and Philip K. Dick. I also enjoy some of the writing by William Hope Hodgson, Anthony Burgess, Jules Verne, Edgar Allan Poe, Ursula Le Guin, Tanith Lee, J. R. R. Tolkien, Arthur Machen and M. R. James.

But what about my own writing? Well, my favourite themes are fantasy, weird fiction, philosophy and politics. I have also written "Xtron", which is my only science fiction story. "The Island of Emeralds", "Torquemada", "Beyond Fantasy" and "Vapour of Vengeance" fall within the fantasy genre. Of my political writing, I would recommend "Magna Carta", "England Today" and Say NO To The European Union (EU)".

On this website, I started a writing Group called "Twilight's Disciples". It is for writers of different talents, where we also discuss various philosophical subjects, and more! If you think that this sounds interesting, then feel free to join! In addition, I use the "Beyond Fantasy", "Whispers Of The Christian Heart", "Dark Poetry" and "For The Broken Hearted" Groups.

I have lived most of my life in London. Decided to move to Derbyshire in 2005, and have been living there ever since. I still like to visit the West End and South Bank areas of London on occasion. My favourite TV programmes include "24", "Prison Break", "The X-Files", "NYPD Blue", "Minder" (original series) and "The Prisoner".

In addition to reading and writing, I have a strong passion for films. I also enjoy art, especially the works of American minimalist, Dan Flavin, for example. My London art gallery of choice is The Hayward.

So far, my favourite exhibitions at The Hayward have included "About Face", "Universal Experience", "Dan Flavin: A Retrospective" and "Annette Messager: The Messengers". On Tuesday 11th August 2009, I went to visit The Southbank Centre in London. The weather was warm and sunny, so I also took a long walk along the embankment. On the fifth floor of The Royal Festival Hall, I made my first visit to The Saison Poetry Library. I was most impressed, and enjoyed the experience very much. I hope to become a member, on my next visit.

Listening to Radio 4 is also an interest. Magazines which I read include "The Spectator" (online only) and "Freedom Today". Also, I subscribe to "Little White Lies" magazine.
