I am a 43 year old writer who works in the automotive aftermarket as the Director of Purchasing for a wholesaler. Married twenty years - I have a teenage son. I began my journey in creative writing when a composition teacher led me in the craft and helped nurture my love for the written word.

I love the poetic literary form. I love conveying simple truths in my poetry, for which I have coined the term "Treasure Poetry". I consider my writing a function of utility. It is meant to bring understanding, hope or reason to the reader. I typically don't write love poetry, but I do write about love. Rarely do I write in the deep, whimsical allegory that many poets present their thoughts to the reader in. I choose the simple form to convey my thoughts, many times in quatrain metered rhyme.

The subjects that receive the attention of my pen range from tributes and odes to life lessons and religous poetry. I occasionally enjoy a "dark" write, but then don't we all have those occasions?

I am currently writing a book "Wisdom For A Young Man", which is dedicated to my son. It is a series of chapters in quatrain, each dealing with a specific life lesson. I am looking for a publisher at this time.
