Ya'aburnee

Ya'aburnee

A Poem by -Insertnamehere-
"

this is the opening poem to the book I'm writing called You Were There (based off of my short story here, You will hear thunder and think he wanted storms). It's very short and simple.

"

You were there

Between the sun and the stars

Before the sunset and after dark

And somewhere there’s a part of me apart from you

And it tastes of ghosts in my mouth

You were there

And when you weren’t I thought

Ya’aburnee

Author's Note

-Insertnamehere-
Ya'aburnee is arabic, and means: Both morbid and beautiful at once, this incantatory word means “You bury me”, a declaration of ones hope that they’ll die before another person because of how difficult it would be to live without them.
