Ms: chapter sixA Chapter by Ashley.M.E
Shadow's sat in the playground behind an old unused school building. He stood inbetween the swing set and the sand box. He lifted his hand. The rain looked like it his him to humans it dripped from his hair and his coat, but he couldn't feel it.
This very spot. This clump of dirt was us body. If we wanted to a clump of it in his hands would be all of him, if not less than that. No grave stone. Nothing. It was to long ago to matter, but he was never born. Dead before his time, like his mother wished. He never got to feel the rain, or true love and he never well. Being mad at the one who truly took his life, the devil wouldn't help him know. He only appeared solid, human. His gift for being still born is to be a ghost among what he never was. The face breathing caught his eyes as he turned. A frightened child came into sight. He clothing was torn her feet bare and a large black eye and bleeding lip was noticeable from where he stood. He just took one look at the child and knew everything about her. Only child of a single mother, lives mostly with her grandparents well her mother works and finishes college. The girl was six, turning seven in two weeks. She had been missing for almost two months and her parents stopped looking for her about a week ago. The child was to busy running to notice me. The three me chasing her, two on foot the other is a car. From her memory he could tell she had been put through hell. In this large city kids went missing quite a bit. Seems this group was the cause. Disgusting. Why wasn't Shadow and the others not suppose to step in and help the good stop the evil? Why only those who ask directly for his help are punished. It was things like that that made people believe in a god and think the devil was all evil. It was hard for Shadow to disagree. He knew he wasn't suppose to interfere with human affairs. This scenario, as real as it is is no different then the one Windy had told him about the young girl who would alternately die because that is what her mother asked. Just like had. Though in his time was just a still born. Like a pig you dissect in biology. It never lived, but it had a soul and was ready for the world, but someone else had a different plan. He muttered a curse as the child looked up at me. Her blond long hair stuck to her face. Her piercing blue eyes so light they made you about a quiet hot summers day with a cold wind and ice tea. He had never had a memory or a past never and he resented not getting the chance, but it seemed so much worse to know what you are losing. In this girls eyes he could see her life passing by and the life that she should leave if nothing gets in the way unnatural. He looked at her blue eyes unable to move. She would grow up to be a great young lady, her eyes so blue would become a great emerald they would make a great go fall for her in a heart beat. Her blond hair would become darker over time to until it was a dark set of brown almost black. It was a terrible thing. To see how this girl would affect so many lived with her brave heart and her brilliant smile. If she died more evil would take over, but again it wasn't his place. The guys grabbed her arms and she screamed the van spun around and stopped with screeching breaks. They hadn't seen shadow, but the girl hadn't taking her eyes off him. Such fear. So much had already happened to this girl. Things that would make her the woman she would become if she lived. Shadow couldn't handle it anymore. This was a test that would prove in the coming year that he would disprove Satan and make sure that no child is killed because of their mother's wishes, or anyone's for that matter. "So tell me what are you planning to do with that young girl?" Shadow asked. The men looked up at him. Shadow would call the look in the man's eye satan's glare, but Satan does what he does for a reason. People abuse power and some innocence get killed because of those who abuse or from those who try to restore order. It is a hard game to win. Until recently shadow and the others haven't been doing any jobs. Hoping the world would work itself out but after 3000 years it was damn time for someone to step in. "None of your business. Go mind your own," the man spat. Shadow raised an eye brow. He could understand how any normal man would hesitate and turn the other cheek for his own life's safety, but Shadow wasn't alive. Pulling the ancient coin out if his shirt. As it hung around his neck he lifted it to the man about the send Satan a man he was not ready for. "No one touches a child without consequence! Meet your maker and see your true punishment!" Shadow roared. The man's ears began to bleed. His eyes rolling back in his head. This was nothing like his other kills, because the man wasn't dead. For the rest of his life he will be trapped in his mind. Feeling the pain of every rape and murder and beating until his heart gives out. The rest of the men went to run. Shadow's coin glowed. Slowly they fell to the ground their skin slowly coming from their body. He heard the you girl quiver and looked down at her. "No one can hurt you anymore." He bent down imparting her hair from her cheek and placing it behind her ear. She pulled her head away and screamed. "Don't be afraid. I am an angel. I got rid of the bad. To save the good," he patted her head and the child seemed to understand as she nodded. "Let's get you home," he picked her up and piggy backed her to her home only four miles from where she had been held prisoner. She fell asleep against his back and her soft breathing reminded him how his breaths were fake. To make him seem human. He never knew what innocence was like. Standing in the front of the yard he shook her lightly, "Time for you to go home." As drowsy as the girl seemed she didn't have to tell her twice. Her eyes widened and she ran through the tall grass to the front of the house. Ring the door bell and banging on the door. Her little lungs screamed. The door opened and two humans with owl eyes opened the door expecting the worst their eyes went to the door. Shadow stood there. They believed she was an angel sent to say her good byes, but when she ran into their arms they cried out. Who said they only had to kill the bad. "Mommy daddy that man saved me," when she pointed at Shadow they looked up. Seeing nothing but an empty side walk at the end of a drive way. Yet their daughter waved him over. They looked at each other. To happy to care to much. Shadow stood turned and walked off. Neighbors came from homes as they went to see the brave child. She could say Shadow saved her, but she saved herself. Without her getting away he would of never helped, even though he memorized every missing child and every adult. It was apart of their training. Sometimes people slipped through the cracks more so that the world hasn't been able to handle itself. The witch crafts are more wide spread. Some powerful cults other beginners who learn from online saying and have to try it. Most don't know the trouble they are getting into. If they mess up a chant. All he'll can break through. Or at least the one that holds the monsters. Everyone wonders why angels are good looking and demons are ugly. Simple, really, your human body is the affects of your parents and what you do to it suck as many factors make what you look like when you die. I don't know what I would of looked at, but all babies are given a soul, usually redone from a dead soul that had asked for permission to be resent up. As humans call it reincarnation. When this happens a child has that same soul unchanging no matter what happens around even if it's body isn't what it should be. A new soul changes and molds, becoming evil or no. Most souls are new, most already created souls want to stay with loved ones. With as many souls as there are you would think it would be hard to find those you knew. Specially when your soul made you more beautiful. More young. Or more ugly. Here is the thing ugly souls and demons were different. The head souls, who were so beautiful, they the true angels. These people died as munks priests. No they did worship the devil exactly, but they loved. Spent their whole life helping others. They died with sin but repented it for years are a selected ten that were replaced every hundred years were chosen. If you can in really ugly so old and sagged they usually left you that way. If you done such terrible crimes in the real world you were already marked, but if you done something as a soul. Ugly, beautiful didn't matter. If you tried to do anything that would seem to harm the world you were turned into a demon and band to the fire pit of hell, but most of hell is beautiful. © 2011 Ashley.M.E |
