outta step

I have never been mainstream. So to speak.

 

 

you’ll know me when you

see me -- i never seem to

blend in.  if the mood

is casual, i’ll be the one

who is overdressed, fussing

with my epaulets

or fringe while all others are

cool, calm, nonchalant.

but if the occasion calls

for black tie, et cetera,

no doubt i’ll be there

in my grubbies and t-shirt,

blowing my bangs

away from my eyes, hoping

no one notices me.  fat chance.

the second half of this is definitely me...never the dress up kind of guy...pure casual and comfort...

but then to me..it isn't what's on the outside, it isn't how we dress ourselves up it is what we wear inside that counts.

As a baby boomer woman, it has been rough to adjust for unevolved situations and even tougher to fight for simple equality in the workplace. I'm more interested on the inside of folks too, but I really think it unkind of God to make anything other than pretty girls. Also fighting the FAT monster all one's life keeps me on the peripherey of accepted.
