The cat who thought he could take on the world

Based off of my friend's cat who likes to escape and chase around small animals

The cat stalks the prey.

At least that's what they say.

If the prey were to escape,

No food shall this cat take.

The cat will end up hungry and want to eat.

But that prey that escaped was its only source of meat.

Poor little cat full of distress.

He is so frustrated at himself he is such a mess.

Oh well, off to your owner you go.

Maybe next time you'll learn to listen when someone says no.

That's sad. Today my friends cat ran away from me so I feel the pain of cat rejection. But it's okay we can admire them from a distance.

That is something I love about this poem. The way it kind of depicts a relationship with it's owner and how it suggests that it regrets having left the owner.

But to me it's super peaceful to hear them in the morning.

Poor dude though, lived a depressing life. He's like the stereotypical depressed writer with a drinking problem. And opioids.... ironically speaking; I always liked to compare myself to him. And we have a lot of common traits. And opioids are a huge problem in Maine... Did you know Maine beat new York for drug problems? And the opioid crisis is one of the worst

An interesting, cute and fun poem about a cat. They do as they please and don't always catch their prey as you so rightly said. That taught that cat a lesson indeed.

This is so cute.

A little lesson learned by the cat. I liked the simple rhyming and the general feel of the poem.

The beginning line is a good starting line and throws us into the scene right off the bat.

The only part I am not too certain on is the very ending. I don't exactly see how it relates to the poem. Of course I could just not being paying enough attention!

It's a fun little read!
