Unmasked

No longer can we ignore the bad...

Sweet tooth,

bitter candy.

Life of hate,

Love a fleeting memory.

Harder these things are to swallow,

but the flow never ceases.

Too much to handle,

no pause button near.

Once  I thought myself invincible,

the truth has shown it's face.

ugly lie I tell,

no longer can the truth be hidden.

Weakening,

for one's own selfish ignorance.

No longer can we pretend,

unmasked was the lies.

Purely selfish want.

of being like the rest.

Now body of mine,

fighting itself.

Here I am,

just human,

wanting what is not there,

ignorant indeed.

Author's Note

So with the many other issue that are going on in my life I can add another. Diabetic, never thought that would happen. Blood sugar levels swinging out of control, body rejecting insulin. Just shows how fragile we are in the end. Not that I needed reminding... A poem to express my current state of mind.

I feel for you my friend...I know of so many who are struggling with the same diabetic analysis...and I hope and pray that you can overcome this...and also...even though...you wrote a very nice poem even with all the emotions...nice VJC...

personal, deeply emotional write. being diagnosed with something like diabetes is hard. hang in there, and dont give up. we are fragile as you said, but we only have one life. No matter what life brings our way, never surrender and enjoy the most of what we have.
