IF

Deep down in the ground is where you may see me

Buried from the rest of the world

Pain fills me from my brief encounter will the outside world

So tender and innocent i had once been

Now shriveled and alone my tears wash me clean

Surrounding me is the walls of mother earth 

she keeps me safe within her womb

Yet as time tick by my mind starts to wonder

The walls once comforted started to close in

Swiftly comfort turns to discomfort and safety to harm

Trapped i now feel but what can i do

IF i leave this place so known what lays beyond is unclear to me 

Fear scratches and burns while my mind wonders IF

doubts form in my mind of what to do

To leave will mean i may never be able to return

Outside is filled with uncertainties and pain

Out there is where blood thirsty creatures roam with ill intent in their mind

Out there is where monster are hidden by deception just waiting for their time

My body shakes with memory of one encounter long since past

Scars still remain in their invisible sate but they are there non the less

So here i lay in the safe home i have always known wondering IF
