Fears, hopes, and wishes

Fears, hopes, and wishes

A Poem by G.A. Grim

I fear, my dreams will remain broken

The words of my heart forever unspoken

That my awareness will never grow

I will stay ignorant in all that I know

Be forgotten by everyone I have known

Constantly embraced but remain alone

I will stumble from lack of light

That this life is nothing but a lost fight

I hope, that all will find peace

Small minded bigotry will cease

We stand together in our empathy

Be united through common sympathy

What we are is no longer mistaken for who

If it can be imagined it can be done too

All be blessed with the necessities to live

To not only be capable but choose to forgive

I wish, joy to find my wife and child

Through them be constantly beguiled

To be surrounded by peace and love

Become a man they can be proud of

I liked the way the poem sounded so human and natural. It sounded honest.
