The shame of falling in love

The shame of falling in love

A Poem by Kat-Marie Berti

If I sat in the sunlight and I dreamnt of you

Soaking my mind in the memories of all you do

Baby I would be happy, I would be glad

Then I'd turn out sad, remembering all that we'd had

Cause you know the truth, what you truly feel

You turned on the signal to that big, black wheel

Made my life spin upside-down and inside-out

Ripped the wings off my body and filled me up with doubt

I'm furious, it's beyond what I feel inside

Shaking my head at the thought of everytime you lied

I've been through tough times, mostly with you by my side

And now the world is waiting for me, ready in whole and in wide

But I still sit in the sunlight and I dream of you

Bringing me back to a time when it was just us two
