As darkness spreads its wings

Over the city -- and none can find

The comfort that old things

Bring -- and you stand in the indigo

Air and think about how the years

Passed too quickly though time was slow -- 

You know again the reason for tears.

Hey David. You have such a way, in your poems, of honing in on the particulars of longing or sadness or stale-ness associated with depression, or the like. How nostalgia can become a roadblock, in a way, as we look back and wonder why we're unable to access or connect in the same ways we did before. Or whatever, I'm not sure how to express that exactly. I'll just say, when reading this I feel like I'm standing outside on my driveway on a summer evening looking at the few early stars and wondering how I got exactly to this spot, and if it's possible to find my way back. Hope you're doing well.
