All.But

All.But

A Poem by Luke Sampson

The beautiful whispers of

Subtle truth

But linger on my ears

And dust my thoughts

With delightful banter

As I paint my minds

Eye with colour

Adorned by rainbows afar

Drawn -

Out over the morning, night-sky

As though thought to have been

Dreamt to have ended

And rose but to live again in

My life.

Only to insert but another comma,

into my list of “wish-I-dids”

But to end

Abruptly

And give my eyes space to breathe

My mind space to dance

My lungs space -

And my heart but a beat short of a

Waltz

wow,
most enjoyable imaginary
how you take the beathing of your hearth
and compare it with the waltz,
it made me smile
just what i needed
