The Cry Of The Lonely ShipA Poem by AloysiaVerbenA ship fly decrepit and lonely through the stars, still mourning the loss of her crew. The Cry of the Lonely Ship
Still, the lonely ship flies Black and dead through the stars Starlight parts before her bow
Beneath her lies the stagnant sky Not a ripple can she create So close but never touching The stars.
Crossing through the sky Moving past the stars The darkness is her funeral shroud The stars are her guide Not a soul has flown to see her No crew since her demise.
But still, the lonely ship flies Creaking though the darkened sky Never again she'll lower her sails Forever, she can only wait. Her mournful song cannot be heard Only, on the darkest nights You see her shadow against the sky. © 2012 AloysiaVerbenAuthor's Note
