R.A.I.N. Observation

about an aspect of my daily life

People always look at me weird

When they find out I’m a Moslem

 

I’m a puzzle

An anomaly

Something that should not be

 

They would prefer me to be a Christian

Or even Jewish would be suffice

Maybe even Buddhist or Hindu

 

They look at me the way they look at Islam

Foreign

Strange

Misguided

Out of place

 

But others have it worse off than I

Due to my skin I can blend in

Walk and talk

Without instantly being labeled:

A woman hater

A backwards fool

A Terrorist

A threat to the American way of Life

 

Only when they ask my religion

Do I tell them my Science

Only then to they wig out

Yeah, sometimes you can't control judgments when they are abruptly thrown at you. Religion is a sensitive subject you see. I'm a Christian but I don't see the reason why I should look at you weirdly. We're all humans created to understand but sometimes we lose even that purpose
