Artificial Realism

Artificial Realism

A Poem by Ace Jaxon

There was a day when everything disappeared

Everything it turned to ashes in my mind

Dreaming turned too realistic

Fear of staying awake at night

Afraid of sleeping in the dark

Outside my comfort zone

Locked out of safety and peace

Slamming on the door to escape the visions

Too many things, so much words can hold

All trapped in my mind the despair of what happened

Suddenly, thrown to the grounds crawling away

Bruised and broken memories so real yet artificial

Where is the door inside, let me free

Trembling from what could have been

Shaking from the realness of what did
