A Poem by The New Bard
"

Again, another really personal one to me. I was on the verge of tears while writing this one, friends and comrades...

"

The poet picks up his pen again

Though now he is full of dread

For only moments ago

He discovered his beloved was dead

However surprised, he knew it to be true

Despite ignoring what all the voices said

The Bottle is truly a sin,

Red like the Fiend who created it

It consumes you, tricks you,

And leaves you for dead, without your wit

But who is to blame? The Tempter or the Tempted?

Neither is willing to admit

“Do to others what you would have them do to you”

When was it that this morale fell?’

Down, down, down like Dante

Venturing through the circles of Hell

Ironic analogy for this is where this Beadle desire

For the Drinker to dwell, as well

For now, thanks to his inner selfishness,

His Seraph of Light is gone

Not merely for a day, a month, a year, or a lifetime

Forever - and O how it was wrong!

His Angel, his Life, his Everything - with a voice O so musical!

Has but alas sung the closing song

His Queen, now a pawn,

Is lost in the shadows - why must he suffer?

He would kill himself in many a clever way

From a crafty spell to drowning in liqueur

Allow him to be her Romeo, sacrificing his own life

So that he may join her

But he has a way to end this chaos

So that no one shall ever again pay the price

To kill the intoxicated

Who scatter around the world - destroying it - like mice

He shall give thee the tonic to cure it all

He is going to propose a question, followed by advice

Who is it that shows us the difference between angels and demons?

The wicked and the pure?

The living and the deceased?

The poison and the cure?

The Paradiso and the Inferno?

The clear and the obscure?

The truth is that all of come together into one Deity

The One known only by few

It is the one who has been readily prepared since Birth

The One with all the weapons It knew

It is the most powerful and beautiful Being of all:

You

Author's Note

The New Bard
This poem may or may not make sense. I was almost about to cry while writing it, and honestly, I don't care. I don't even care about the grammar on this.
