Butterfly Wings

Butterfly Wings

A Poem by The New Bard
"

Yet ANOTHER poem dealing with lost love. I promise you not all of my writing is this depressing.

"

Another butterfly's wings are clipped,

But it goes unnoticed to the world:

Smiles spread; conversation never lacks;

The world continues to spin.

Though for me, it begins to crash because

Another butterfly's wings are clipped,

And I hold the shattered pieces to my chest,

Lest I forget Her name or Her memory.

How shall my blossoms continue to bloom

When Her's is long buried beneath the arid ground?

Another butterfly's wings are clipped.

Soon, mine will be too.

But I shall not compare my Butterfly to Her death.

Instead, my thoughts will linger on in our felicity -

But still I regret; still I break; still I weep.

Another butterfly's wings are clipped.
