Human Race, Unbound and Unbridled

Human Race, Unbound and Unbridled

A Poem by Å.Jakway
"

Post-Apocalyptic star travel from a dead earth

"

Breathe, just close your eyes.

Reality is in fact dying, but we thank you for trying.

Mothers are hushing their frightened children

While feeding them lullabies wrapped in lies.

All are too afraid to admit the unavoidable truth:

It was in the grit and grime in a world wrought with decay.

While denied, it was hidden in the glimmer of all our eyes.

It was when the moon found it necessary to sink behind the stars

And the sun was forced to hide, we knew it was time.

We realized (yet) again: "too little too late" what was to come undone,

Reconciling without denial the fault in our hearts.

We breathe a last, depressive collective breath,

Making sure we forget what was once originally ours.

Miraculously, amidst the rupturing and tumultuous ground,

Hidden in the death of our homes' last breath -

Humanity came to a startling ONCE-EVER realization:

Within the bickering, snickering and sniveling of sounds

We admitted to ourselves: yes we did lose it all!

There simply wasn't enough greed to go around

We will admit ONLY ONCE that we brought this upon ourselves.

We rebelled in denial to only find a new hell -

Hoping to forget how to resign a new creation.

We work to find a new frontier among the stars -

TAKE HEED GREAT WONDER, we bring death (it's all we sell).

Forgive us in our haste - don't blame us for seeking hope from a dying realm.

The human race as a greedy, selfish mass in denial about its own flaws. enjoyed the poem the idea was great. some times language confused itself "bickering, snickering" one is more argumentative the other is more light hearted I did understand what you were trying to get across but over all good job.

About
I love the configuration and distribution of words. It's more than a pattern, it's a vision made real by vowels and consonants. Written word breathes life into banality and abnormality, giving joy and.. more..
