The Drums That Beat Aquaintence

The Drums That Beat Aquaintence

A Poem by Alex Roy
"

A short and fast paced poem that I recently wrote.

"
Every note I wrote I meant,
Between the lines,
My subconscious self sings a perfect harmony,
Never to be heard, but in the reverberations of the drums,
That beat acquaintance to my melody.

Out of tune they may be,
The raw imperfection gives a whole new meaning to the piece,
that I could have never seen, but felt.

The flutter of your vocal chords alone,
once heard, serotonin cracks the matrix of my mind.
The words that flow within each flutter,
Bled truth and new meaning to the music.

Place me in a familiar crowd,
I can feel alone, I will be an unknown.
My mind, it's voice, muffled to an undertone.

What i say to you stays at pure pitch.
what would fall upon a broken cadence,
Strums a perfect choice of words.
