Window Shopping

Window Shopping

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

Window Shopping

Hypocritical,

like the falling

of the dove,

a tried and true

revelation;

sometimes in summer time,

lost in the fold.

Beaten down

on hot city streets,

scraping by

with cool manipulations,

window shopping

on main street

downtown.

And the sun burns

sandaled feet.

What a way

to wonder,

a hand full

of clutch;

the thinking mans dream,

in the body of a woman.

And there's a shiver

in the air.
