I Can't Feel My Feet

I Can't Feel My Feet

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

I Can’t Feel My Feet

Looking to

shut it down,

standing in line

waiting to be fed

a spoonful of life.

And I can’t see

the stars anymore.

In a world

where we take such

small steps,

it is aggravating

when your shoes

don’t fit.

This was never

a choice for me,

but a reality.

One that continually

slaps me in the face

or knocks me

to the ground.

And every time

I’m down,

it gets a little bit harder

to get up.

All this makes my

head hurt,

and I cant feel my feet

anymore.

I think I’ll walk

to the ocean,

and watch

as my dreams

are ripped away.
