Blindfold

Blindfold

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

Blindfold

It was the start

of something significant,

with a touch

of underlying courage.

Blood red

in the bathtub,

same as;

bathing every friendship

in undeniable truth.

And the people who stick,

will be the only ones

that count,

carrying the laundry

up the steps

but never through the door.

Accepting to a degree,

like a dog lapping

at a dry bowl.

They think it just as interesting.

And are around ever corner,

keeping an eye

on the predators

sneaking up from behind.

It’s good to have them around.

Just make sure

the people who are

watching your back,

are not wearing blindfolds.
