Alteration

Alteration

A Poem by Abraxasbird
"

the sun dies, we cope

"

Releasing a sigh as I let anticipation fall away
These shoulders slack
to revel in time and surrender under the windplay
the gift I've received
I've yet to give back
Perusing my vista with dancing eyes
my skin sings in the light
exaltations to time forever
weary of the night

sundown
nightfalls

I shudder as my skin crawls in the dark
these hands clasp
abreast the shadowplay and hold my heart
malign deeds are rewarded
here, I present my mask
carving the night under the knife edge of my gaze
eastward feet bore me away
with abhorrations of disdain for ever
set on fairweather days

I think I would run out of space if I were to mention all the things that I loved about this piece. The words work perfectly, I wonder if you thought about the order and chose a form or if you wrote as it came. Either way, this is a gorgeous work.
"eastward feet bore me away"
I can relate so deeply to individual lines of this, it's moving in a way that I rarely get to experience. Also
Line breaks are perfect, each verse flows.
