Depressing Authors

Depressing Authors

Decided to use a random line generator for the first line and went on from there. "In the stillness of harmony the poets hurt...."

 “Depressing Authors”

In the stillness of harmony the poets hurt,

No turmoil to splash the pages of their works.

Happiness does not spark as much emotion

And words are dull and lack their pungent blow.

Coffee houses do not house the aspiring authors

For everyone has lost their will to type,

Damning this joy that has sapped away their woe that inspired miracles.

Frantically searching for new synonyms for joyousness--

The poets hang their heads and sigh.

The bliss has broken apart their dreary dolor

And they know not what to do.

“Can you hear us God?

Please bring your vengeance,

So we may be lost again in suffering.”

The bleeding hearts always pour forth the best poetry.

It seems a sad commentary that pain and sorrow generate the best poetry! It's certainly the case that many poets on WC soothe their aching hearts with words of anguish. But moments of ecstasy and situations that warm the heart also stir this poet and the magic of words can enable the emotion to be 'recollected in tranquility'.

Your fertile mind has produced a thought-provoking poem... with its own vitality and sense that all is not lost.

A final thought, one of my most memorable f***s happened after the death of my mother... the raw emotion in me produced an outstanding climax... as though my ejaculation was a pouring out of my bleeding heart.

It is often pain that brings forth feelings in the poet's heart onto the page. It is true. Your skill at writing shows here.

Isn't it though? Sometimes it feels like our best work comes from when we're down.
