Poem about the Moon goddess, Selene, and her beautiful stallion.

Selene's Stallion

 

Swiftly darts Selene's steed
as he charts her golden beams
with accelerating speed
through her clouds of midnight dreams.

 

He embellishes her night
with his courage and his might.

 

Here, he drinks ambrosial mead
topped with amber honey creams
made for his immortal breed
hatched by clever godly schemes.

 

He gives her a tender bite
at the dimming of twilight.

 

He fulfills her every need
as he leaps her lucid streams
both in mind as well as deed
beckoning her fervid gleams.

 

With hot nibbles, they unite.
Playfully she hugs him tight.

 

Soon, bright Dawn must intercede
as Apollo's power screams.
Now, Selene must concede
doing as Apollo deems.

 

He bows to Apollo's light
as he vanishes from sight.

Mythology do have some great representations. I sense a little taboo on the relationship of the gods here. Otherwise its is brilliantly penned.

Ahh...mythology. I think Selene is one of my favorites, to be honest. I guess I have always been a sucker for anything to do with the moon...Luna, lunacy, lunatic... :)

This was penned with a lot of great imagery. You bring to life the moon as her personified goddess self, as well as the stallion, which embodies Selene's ability to "tame the untamable". Metaphorically, I like this idea. Nicely written.
