Love's Trigger

Love's Trigger

A Poem by Aethereal
"

How love may be triggered.

"

Love’s Trigger

Love springs from a triggered mood

deep within your core.

If you show some gratitude,

I may trigger more.

If you change your attitude

as you’ve done before,

I shall serve some special food

then we’ll dance the floor.

Sometime in the interlude,

I’ll serve an encore.

I’ll let sherry wine collude

with a music score.

I’ll increase the magnitude

of your lion's roar

all dressed in my seminude

gown that you adore.

Part Two

Some say love’s a triggered mood

filled with vim and zeal.

Do you have the aptitude

to change how I feel?

If you’re clever, if you’re shrewd,

mine‘s your heart to steal.

There’s no need to utter lewd

verbs to make me peel.

Mentioning a platitude

from an old newsreel

makes me yearn for solitude,

and an early meal.

Don’t let trivia intrude

on a bliss that’s real,

for a mood needs better food

if it must congeal.

One word: Bravo!

Thanks for motivating me to write a poem with that style. Practice makes perfect so I'll just make other poems with this style which now I will call as Aethereal's Trochee.

I compared this to "The 7/5 Trochee", created by Andrea Dietrich, of 2 or more quatrain stanzas with the following set rules:Meter: 7/5/7/5 ; Rhyme Scheme: a/b/c/b or a/b/a/b

You know, the only difference is your style have a perfect rhyme scheme throughout the 4 quatrains. But the meter is also trochee (7/5/7/5).

A light refreshing serving of a love inspired piece. You have cleverly captured the comical irony in the games we play and the dance we do with the ones we supposedly love.

Brilliantly written. You are most talented.

the second to last stanza, haha funny. What an interesting theme, how we complicate love.

The flow in this one was excellent.

Without our moods we wouldn't be able to imagine or create anything at all. We would be void.
What a wonderful sentiment and a great form.

Fantastic line structure, flow, a brilliant piece sung so succulently ... beautiful piece on how the heart can be pulled in different directions depending on what is served... well done, dear poet!

I like how the poem rhymes and also like how the steps of romancing are described, when first read it played like a song.
